Everything Archuleta does sounds like something from the stage production of _The Lion King_, even if it’s not. ---

David A was good too. He tried really hard to keep his eyes open. But “hot” is never a word I would use… ---

Not a U2 fan, but I thought David Cook sounded great. ETA: Really liked David A. too. He didn’t ruin the melody on this one, which was awesome. ---

Christ Almight, Jackson, it wasn’t _that_ good. Try to be a little bit less obvious, will you. There’s no doubt they want Archie to win because he’s already so obedient and safe, but they could try to be a little bit subtle. ---

The performance seemed effortless and the “scoop” at the end, as Randy called it, ended the song nicely. David A OTOH was technically good, but boring until the end. And it’s really distracting to watch him try so hard to keep his eyes open. ---

I’m pretty sure David Cook will outsell Archuleta no matter what happens, and he might actually have more artistic freedom if he loses. ---

Round one to David Cook, I don’t care what Simon says. I’ll give him rounds two and three as well because it will be damn near impossible for David A. to impress me at this point. I realize he’s a talented singer but everything he does sounds exactly the same and he’s squinty and boring and, even when he does move, it looks unnatural like he’s stood in front of a mirror for the last week going “Okay, on this note I’ll stick my arm out like this. And here is where I’ll shake the microphone for no reason.” ---

[/QUOTE] He probably will, but as much as I liked Chris Daughtry on Idol, I hate his music, post-Idol. It’s so bland. I’m afraid that David C will be Daughtrified, win or lose. ---

Jeez, how much of the Idol fanbase do you suppose also are huge fans of boxing and therefore would enjoy this harping on this stupid metaphor? I’m thinking it’s not exactly a one for one overlap… ---

Man, crap lyrics in that Dream Big song. It’s hard to know how to judge the performance, given what they had to work with. I don’t think I’ve ever liked an Idol original. ---

Every year the judges complain about what a piece of shit the victory song is, which, while always true, is never the contestants’ fault. Cook did about all that anyone could have done with song. ---

This finale has more filler crap than the Super Bowl. David Cook’s song is terrible. It wants me to reach out for something more. I’m reaching out for the barf bag. ---

Kelly Clarkson had better material with A Moment Like This, and sang it better than any Idol since then. Zillions of songwriters out there and TPTB manage to keep picking the suck. Cook sounded alright on whatever that mess was. Archie did much better with his choice. ---
