I know, but I wish they would let somebody through who’s got a little edge or danger to sometime – and I don’t mean some faux “rocker” who’s really a wedding singer. ---

Apparently Sean Michael was disqualified, and the reason is a secret – show won’t say, he’s not contractually allowed to say. Rumors are that it was because he wouldn’t cut his hair, but I find that hard to believe since they’ve had Jason Castro and that other guy with dreadlocks (Anwar?). ---

So far I’m liking Big Italian Family Guy and Codzilla. A couple of the ones they blipped over real fast sounded good too. ---

Yeah, but there’s safe, pussified long hair, and there’s heroin addict long hair. I saw that it was because he wouldn’t cut his beard, not his hair, though. If that’s the reason (hair or beard), he’s my hero. ---

Funny you should say that, because Sean Michael apparently only wanted to sing spiritual music. That may have been why he was disqualified. ---

I’m startting to think the decisions are made bfore the people even get in the room. The pre-selected yes’s are grouped together with the goofballs and trainwrecks, and then the judges are given little cards informing them of the status and hook for each person – stuff like “retard brother. Can sing” or “robot dances, obsessed with Randy.” There’s not an ounce of mystery in these auditions anymore. ---

They must have had cards for the impatient guy, because they really kind of poked at him and then completely over-reacted to his response. It was obviously set up and scripted. That’s the best they could do for drama? ---

I think they were hoping for it to look like Kara was putting the smackdown on a jerk, but she just came off like an elitist mean girl bullying a dork. ---

She couldn’t convey the douchiness of the guy to the audience. I saw a guy who was irked at having to wait so long to audition, what’s wrong with that? I guess it will be hard to replace the Paula presence on the judging panel. Victoria Beckham is the most frightening human being I’ve ever seen. She looked, er, mildly attractive, in an anorexic greasy model kind of way on the second day in Boston, but the first day she looked hideous. Is she seriously attractive in any way to anyone besides Becks? Because I don’t see it. Hell, she’s the least attractive _Spice Girl_. She wisely refrained from commenting on most of the acts, well, because compared to her, Paula Abdul is Whitney Fucking Houston. ---

Oh, it was more a critique of the storyline than the singer. She was fine as a singer. I shake my head a little bit at the claim that anyone is trying to be a millionaire superstar for somebody other than themselves. If you want to just accept it all at face value, that’s fine. Me, I’m a little bit more skeptical. Like somebody might actually grease their own storyline to curry favor with the audience, they they’re just doing it God, grandma and America. You know? ---
