The promos have started. In a week will start my favorite part of the competition-- Those With No Sense of Self! But we’ll get into that once the show starts. For now, let’s pretend we know how to sing and have to pick our one showstopper song. What would it be? Me, I’d go for either And I Am Telling You (from Dreamgirls) or The Jackson 5’s Who’s Love You (I hear Trent D’arby sings it too but I’ve never heard his version). ---

D’arby’s version of “Who’s Loving You” was great - better than the J5, IMO (BTW, it was originally performed [and written] by Smokey Roninson [with the Miracles]). Personally, I’d sing “Kiss” by **Prince** or “Somebody to Love” by **Queen** (though, to be honest, I couldn’t actually pull of the latter without some kind of actual training). ---

I’ve been thinking (gotta do it sometime) and maybe I’d want to showcase not only my imaginary fantastic voice but also my imaginary stage command and sing something uptempo. Here Comes The Hotsteppa would be my choice. ---
