Two big, fat, fricking points for me. That’s what I get throwing my full weight behind Sarver getting the boot. Ah well…
Sarver’s got the powerful “country” vote behind him - even if he doesn’t really sing country. Remember how long Bucky Covington and Kristy Lee Cook (?? something like that) lasted? Sarver’s probably in for the same.
I moved up a couple of slots: I spread out my points, but I nailed the bonus question for Anoop. I just knew they would use the judges’ ripping him apart to make it seem like he was in danger…ha.

I guess I didn’t think about the country thing; I just figured the people who like him would be splitting between him, Kris, and Danny. And the latter two are much better.
I blew most of my points on Megan. That was the first time I’ve had to leave the room when someone was singing, I was that embarassed. Maybe I underestimated the power of VFTW. I can’t believe we got her as the “quirky one” instead of Jesse.
Got the Anoop one too. I figured that AI has a pretty good track record of leaving him hanging for last!
I picked Jasmine, at least. Yay, points for me!
BAM! 2 for 2, and I’m back in it. (Didn’t even realize 2 were going when I made my picks. (tivo’ed past that little revelation) I was hedging my bets, figuring for a sure 10, but then they both went.) Only blew the 3 pt bonus because I was worried Anoop might actually go. If I had been more confident in my picks, I should’ve known they’d string him along again.
I just realised that next week is going to be the one time since Season 3 that I won’t get to see American Idol because of a trip-- I’m gonna have to just put my points on someone now and hope for the best – goodbye lead!!

From now on I am going with what is probably a losing strategy. I am putting all my points on Sarver until he gets eliminated. I can’t stand him. Don’t tell me his appeal is cause he’s country, either. I love country. He has a redneck appeal that is hard for me to grok.
I’m shocked I’m doing so well overall (11th place!) after biffing my 20 this week. I just didn’t want to believe Alexis would get the boot. Apparently the bonus questions are saving my ass.
For the second time, my overall pick to win gets booted. Sigh! I really thought they’d try to push a woman through, but with only a 33% chance (and one of them’s - gak - Megan), it doesn’t look good for the gals this year.
Also: Idol voters are stupid eejits. Thank you.

I’m really having trouble this week, there are a few people who could easily get the boot. I could hedge and spread the points around, but if the person I think in my gut is going to go is actually voted off, I’ll be mad at myself for not laying down all 20 points on them. What to do? ARGH!
You and me both, Rachael. All points on Suckmeister A, or spead them out between Suckmeisters A, B and possibly C? How about the VFTW factor? Enough to make a save? Arrrrrgh!

I split my points between two. It is getting tough now, but it will get easier again when there are less singers left.
I dunno about that…let’s put it this way: In a perfect world, where there were no VFTW, no sympathy votes, and vocal talent was what kept you on the show, then the next three to go would be Megan, Scott and Matt – no question about it. But let’s say that were the case – then what? Kris is just coming into his own, so anything could happen there. Lil would be a safe guess and Anoop is sinking fast, but at any time Allison could go, or we could have a Shocking Elimination[sup]TM[/sup] of Adam or Danny before the top four. I don’t see this really getting much easier…
By the by, I said “hell with it” and threw all 20 points in one basket. I’ve got some catching up to do.
No question about it? Given your perfect world, I think the next three to go would be Megan, Scott, and Anoop. Matt is a better vocalist than Anoop, but Anoop Dawg has more personality (not that either has a ton), IMO. BTW, I split my points between two of those I mentioned and I didn’t vote for the girl to leave because I believe VFTW will keep MJ around a while longer. Heck, I want her to stay around a little because she’s eye candy.
I’ve been splitting my points, simply because I’m merely trying to stay above last place, rather than actually win. I think I do better with our previous Idol game instead of this pick every week method.
How are points scored if the judges save the would-be eliminee?
Point taken. I look at it this way: I loved Anoop’s version of “My Prerogative”, but I haven’t loved anything Matt has done. Therefore, Anoop gets the nod from me. But yeah, either one of them could go at any time, really.
I can’t find the official word on the pool site, but they put out a rules update when the judge’s save was announced. Trouble is, I can’t definitively say how they were handling it. I think they were going to score it as if the person left. That is to say, if Allison were the low vote-getter tonight but the judges kept her around, points put in to Allison would still count for pool purposes. I think that’s how they’re handling it. Pretty sure. Almost positive. Sorta.
