I love Harold Arlen, and I think this is the first time an Arlen song other than “Rainbow” has made the show. Still, if Danny had to do an Arlen/Mercer song, too bad he didn’t go with Ac-Cent-Choo-Ate the Positive. ---

Is Simon is pimping for Matt? I can’t believe he like that performance, liking it to Nat King Cole? Matt was OK, but a distance third thus far to Allison and Kris. ---

Gokey also breathes too much when he sings. Otherwise a solid performance and a good song choice. So far everyone’s pretty much done their songs straight, which I like. (Because “bluesing it up a little” is [hardly an original concept with that song](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahob4g7Aw58).) ---

I keep thinking one of these weeks the judges will try to humble Matt. Can’t believe they don’t have a script to make this contest look competitive by bringing him down a peg. ---

When Allison was performing, she reminded me of Kelly Clarkson’s performance of “Stuff Like That There”. It was a moment when she really made herself stand out, perhaps to some that weren’t already wowed by her. Matt sounded really off (I refuse to say “pitchy”) at first, but the last 8th of the song sounded great. ---

I never have liked Okey Dokey Gokey, but I think tonights performance is his best yet. The judges have like everyone, and the front runner hasn’t even sung yet. ---

Adam preparation is un-matched. Does he work that much harder with the band and the lighting director. It looks like a Vegas show every week. ---

Gokey’s best yet. Allison’s best yet. Kris did OK. Matt was weaker than the judges let on. Adam blew them all out of the water on a technical level. Simon was right about everything here. I give it to Allison tonight she needed a great performance and by golly, she did it. ---

Adams songs are not someone else’s. He is not doing a Sinatra copy or anyones. He makes so many changes that they are unique and sometimes better. I would like to hear Allison doing Joplin ,but you would think she was doing a very good imitation. ---

I thought Allison sounded like Pink, and was happy when Randy said that. I also think Pink sounds like Kelly Clarkson, so this all is connected. Love those raspy voices. I want to punch Danny in the glasses, but I have to admit that last half was pretty good. Adam just goes without saying. He makes me happy for him, the guy is smart about stage direction and straight up good. I also think he will turn into Fat Elvis in his future. ---
