I mean, geez…I’m a gun ownership supporter, my parents shot muzzleloading rifles competitively for almost 20 years, I’ve shot guns myself. A perusal of my positions in the rare gun threads I participate in will show that I’m not an advocate of any extreme or unusual gun or ammo bans. But I just don’t see how Obama comes into this, other than as a right-wing bogeyman the fear of whom apparently forces gun enthusiasts to make market runs on ammo.

Obama is the excuse, so in a sense, he’s the reason.

My brother was having trouble getting ammo from stores at least a year ago and I believe two years ago. The stores said they couldn’t get enough in for demand. It’s not because of the run on guns panic.

That’s what I meant when I said ‘Obama Effect’. He hasn’t done anything about guns or ammo but there is a fear that he will.

Didn’t Chris Rock suggest something like this? Instead of making restrictions on guns, make restrictions on bullets?

I remember the proposal to ban bullets back when I was in high school. I graduated in 1978, 31 years ago, so that predates Chris Rock’s standup comedy by a bit.
