Among advanced countries, more guns means more gun deaths. Controversial?

Quit being willfully stupid. It’s intellectually dishonest to imply that suicides are a problem only when there are lots of guns around.

Seriously don’t get what you’re talking about. Gun deaths include homicides and suicides by gun – what’s your point? This thread is about gun deaths. Who has implied that suicides are only a problem with lots of guns?

Ease of acquisition? Jumping jeebus krishna on a cracker, you think it is easier to get a gun now? That isn’t just wrong, that is delusional.

You want to pretend you have a factually accurate point that won you the whole goldarned internet, feel free. Oh, wait. I see you already did.

This far, no farther, Flyer.

Let’s all be kind to each other, now.

So gun control works, and background checks and the like are very difficult to bypass? Or anyone with half a brain and few hundred bucks can get a gun pretty much anywhere in the US in short order? I think the second statement is a lot more likely, based on my reading and my experience.

?? Not sure who or what you’re addressing here.

Whatever your point is, I concede it. You were right and I was wrong, and I apologize for saying it – whatever you’re disputing here is definitely not worth arguing with you about.

Forgot to add: Guns were more deadly back in 1915. The state of medical science was such that, at the time, getting shot with most anything was going to result in sepsis or amputation or some horrid result. Check out the gun that killed McKinley some time. Today, you’d just about have to get center punched or cns shot with such a gun to die from it if you were within 911 range of medical care.

Good point. I concede all points of disagreement to you.

I salute your class and honesty. Very well played, sir.

Thank you. I look forward to a deep and intimate friendship, brother.

Just so we wear those little rubber things on the tips of our John Thomases.
