[Snopes](http://www.snopes.com/business/names/powergen.asp) says “PowerGenitalia” is false, insofar as it refers to PowerGen’s Italian subsidiary. When I lived in San Francisco, there used to be a bar in the Castro called “The White Swallow.” Somehow I don’t think they were talking about our little feathered friends. :dubious: ---

Back when I lived way the hell out in Rosemead, CA., there was a Vietnamese restarurant there named **My Dung**. Yummy. I’m not sure why, but I’ve always found the name **Afros of Hollywood** to be mighty amusing. ---

In Anchorage there’s a neighborhood restaurant with a sign proclaiming “Pizza and Chinese Food” It’s called The Tea Garden, but we’ve always called it Chinese Pizza. Also there used to be a small computer store called **Cunning Stunts Computers** (think Spoonerism.) As far as I know, it was owned by a guy. ---

All local businesses within a couple of miles of here: Al’s Fun in the Bun (hot dog place) Dong Ky (Vietnamese restaurant) In and Out Movers (I actually hired these guys, and they were pretty good…although I was a bit bummed at not ending up with the three hunky Israelis promised by the friends who reocmmended them) And then, of course, the Manhole (gay bar; what else could it possibly be?)…although I’m within walking distance of another gay bar called Different Strokes. ---

Local Indian curry house place called “Two Fat Indians”, and yes, yes and yes to the 3 most obvious questions. Another curry place is called something like “The Great London Curryhouse” ---

Mine pale in comparison to the ones posted, but “The Boutique Shop” did get my attention. If I ever want to buy a boutique, I guess I will shop there. The restaurant in my hometown is “Toot and Tell It.” (It began in the 1950’s with carhops, thus the name.) I don’t think I will get over “Spruce Springclean” for a while… ---

Got a few. There’s a hairdresser’s shop in Paris called “Hair France”. In Zimbabwe, I once saw a truck owned by a trash pickup service called “Waste Away”, and a take-away chicken place that made deliveries called “Poultry In Motion”. Finally, I may have mentioned this somewhere else, but there used to be a bottle shop in Evanston, Wyoming called “Beaver Liquors”. One could buy gimme hats with the name on it, which I’m sure made one a hit with the ladies. ---

Once upon a time a local construction company called itself **Big Men With Big Decks**. **Hang Lung Plastics**. I feel slightly queasy every time I drive past. **DV8** was (is?) also a nightclub in San Francisco. ---
