In Lansing, MI there is a funeral home named “Palmer Bush”. I laugh everytime I go by there and wonder how much business they get. LOL ---

Oh! In Moorhead, Minnesota and Menomonie, Wisconsin are bars called **Someplace Else**. There is a diner called **That Mexican Place**. ---

Oh, come on, none of you live in a podunk area that has a Restaurant? Not a restaurant, not just any restaurant, but a Restaurant? There’s several around here. You drive by, and you see a big sign proclaiming, “Restaurant.” You drive up to it, and there across the top of the building, and on the door, is its name, “Restaurant.” My northern cousins get a kick out of those. ---

I’ve seen a few pretty good bar names that all run along the line of “can be given to the wife when she asks where I was last night without my actually admitting I was at a bar”. Like The Ly-Brary (Tavern)(I think that’s how they spelled it; they’re gone now), or Noplace (Bar), or “My Brother’s Place”. ---

There is a restaurant around here called “That place on Bellflower” which is on, if you haven’t guessed, Bellflower street. I just think it’s a dumb but amusing name. Merla ---

Oh, I remembered when I was in Phoenix many years ago there was a chain of restaurants called “The Rusty Nail”. Still doesn’t appeal to me and I don’t think thay’re around anymore. There’s a Library (A Bar) for Yuppie-types here. And a Chinese Restaurant called Ho Ho (means “very lucky” or something like that). And a condom store called The Rubber Tree. Oh yeah, and the one that always broke us up as kids…Buffalo Sanitary Wipers. Hope I never have to wipe a buffalo. Actually it’s a commercial laundry. ---

There’s a shopping centre called **_Longwood_ Station**. Think about it. I’ve always thought **Schlumberger** was kinda funny, but not for any particular reason. ---

When I was in DC last week, I saw a little place called “Thai Tanic”. I thought it was kind of cute. Oklahoma City is the proud owner of Og’s Food Mart. I think it’s part of a gas station or something. There’s a gas station a little way down the street from me that proudly proclaims that it is a “CONVENIENCE STORE” in huge light-up letters. It also has a big “CONVENIENCE STORE” sign above the front doors. ---

If you’re ever in Las Vegas and you want seafood, go to my favorite place in nearby Henderson. Good old **“Joe’s Crab Shack”**. Best t-shirt - “Your mama got crabs from Joe’s” I also lived near a pet store named Hare Today, and in the next mini mall there was a salon called Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow. I still wonder how many confused customers went to the wrong one. Peace-DESK ---
