Nah, tyre is just some snooty upper crust Brit spelling of tire. While there’s been significant British meddling influence in the middle east; there aren’t that many Lebanese with the surname “Steve” there. ---

I think it is actually his Christian name but all the Brits (not just the snooty ones) spell the rubber things that go on your car wheels as “tyre” even if fitting them makes Steve tired (with the British spelling). ---

Years back, I posted here about a sign at a local wine store. It was something like “Thanks, Teachers!” (during some “honor our teachers” week). They were puzzled, until I noted that it said “H8NUNC”. Then we looked more closely and saw that it was a plate that supported NC State. I resisted the temptation to vandalize the car (as a loyal Tarheel, I should have, I suppose). ---
