Just to be safe, I better warn everyone its not safe for work.

[Amy Purdy, double amputee, conquers Paralympics, ‘Dancing With the Stars’ and going naked: memoir – New York Daily News](http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/amy-purdy-double-amputee-conquers-paralympics-dancing-article-1.2065169)

Click the photo for a full screen image. The naughty bits are discreetly hidden, but theres a shapely bare butt on display. She’s ok if you like muscular, hard-bodied women. Definitely not my type. I like cuddly women. YMMV

Is that a photoshop fail on her right arm? I’ve never seen an arm and forearm that looked anything like that before. Especially where its oddly squeezed at the elbow. Looks like a drumstick with fingers. She’s had a lot of surgery. Spleen removed and a kidney transplant. They must of used Photoshop for the surgical scarring.

She’s overcome a lot. She’s a tough lady.
She doesn’t leave the blades on during sex? 😃 I guess sharp metal up in the air might ruin the moment.

Look at her left arm, just as muscled. If anything, the right arm looks slightly smaller though it’s most likely the way the arm is turned.

Looks like a normal arm to me.

Oh man, I meant the left arm. The one way up in the air. The drumstick forearm is pinched in at the elbow…

Looks normal to me as well. She _might_ have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome to a small degree, which can make the elbow look somewhat hyper-extended. I have it, to a not large degree.

here’s a typical muscular arm. elbow isn’t pinched in. Its symmetrical.

\<shrug\> maybe it is just the angle in Amy’s photo.

That’s a guy.
And the arm is at a completely different angle and it’s flexed and lifting a weight.

\<shrug\> maybe it is just the angle in Amy’s photo. Theres not much definition between the bicep and triceps. Makes it look a bit odd from that angle. At first I thought that was her elbow, but her arm is rotated the other way.

Super muscular people with no body fat always look a bit odd to me.

Same arm without the shiny baby oil. She looks like a normal person here. Scroll down to her ballgown photo. Normal arm. Not Superwoman.

I have to say that I am so enlightened that on first viewing all I saw was a strong, beautiful woman, and did not even notice her circumstance. :smack:

But, yeah, a well defined forearm will bulge out like a drumstick. It is not as common with women, but normal.

The elbow looks okay to me, but the left forearm and wrist look awfully skinny.

But then, why would they photoshop someone’s wrist?

Like the man in running coach’s photo, she has somewhat hypertrophied forearm muscles and is flexing her wrist inward. That’s bulging the forearm a bit, and it’s even more noticeable with her forearm fully extended.

ETA: Also, the upper arm isn’t actually thinner, it’s just turned such that it’s showing a thin profile to the camera.

It’s probably as simple as that.

That’s about the last thing I looked at.

Thanks everyone for your comments. It seems likely her muscular forearm is normal for an athlete in her sport. The odd angle threw me for a moment. Photoshop fails threads can be fun to discuss but this isn’t one of them.

There’s probably not one photo that’s commercially used that isn’t “Photoshopped.” This includes sharpening and adjusting color, contrast and texture, or changing the background. Or fixing “someone’s wrist.” This has nothing to do with dishonesty or trickery, but the esthetics of the entire photo.
