Whenever I hear or read anything about Amy Winehouse (and believe me it’s never past the headline) I just think “God aren’t you dead yet?”. Seriously, I’ve reached the point of wishing death on someone I’ve never even met just so that I don’t have to hear about her any more, if that’s not an argument for restraining the media I don’t know what is. ---

My Honest to God views on the subject? I think her record label will be OVER THE MOON when Amy’s found dead (which I’ve resigned myself to the fact that this isn’t IF, it’s WHEN). You’ll have Amy Winehouse commemerative albums for the rest of time, released under a banner of “remembering the haunting sound of a lost talent”. As it is, Amy’s too fucked up to even record a single track (she lost the James Bond/ Quantum of Solice gig due to “creative differences”, read; to piped out to sing). When she dies, the record company can start flogging her dead carcass. It’s a damn shame, they could’a swooped in and helped her at any time. I know people need to accept help to recieve help, but I can’t but feel there are those that think her death is financially viable. ---

I feel sort of sorry for her, as I do for any one who is such a complete fucking mess and must live their personal trainwreck in the public eye. (Shout-out to Britney!) That said, given the sentence “Amy Winehouse has [insert name of disease],” emphysema would not have been my first guess. ---

[/QUOTE] True, her managers and producers have looked out how much juice was able to be squeezed from Tupac’s corpse, and his death was unexpected. With Amy they’re probably taking every opportunity to record enough grunts and wheezes to set up a decade’s worth of retrospectives. ---

Any sympathy or thoughts about “Those evil leeches that are her lawyers” dried up a long time ago. She fucked up royally and she only has herself (and her deadbeat druggie husband) to blame. ---

Like her music but feel she has thrown up her free lunch. Then again, I am old enough to remember when Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison all dropped dead at the age of 27. She wouldn’t be the first to become a dead legend at a young age. I still remember turning down free tickets to see Janis Joplin perform in Chicago because I was invited to some stupid party that night saying, “No big deal. I’ll see Janis next time she is in town.” She died a few weeks later. ---
