I’m friends (in RL and on Facebook) with maybe three C List celebs (an actor, a comedian, and a journalist with a national column and previous TV series) - they have public profiles in their real names, but none of them use precisely their real names for their personal accounts. I’d be a little suspicious of an A Lister doing so. ---

Hey. I was thrilled to get a friend request from a “D” list celebrity- a hometown local musician who had some minor credits with a few major rock bands, and a failed marriage with another “D” list musician. I sort of knew the guy when I was a teenager ( he signed my yearbook but I don’t think I ever had a conversation of more than a few sentences with him). I was really surprised he remembered I existed. ---

Vaguebooking seems entirely about posting annoyances vaguely. This is more like some slow build brag or something. A slightly disguised “Guess who invited me to a party yesterday! Here’s how you should absolutely handle this: Pull an image of her off the web, photoshop yourself in next to her, post it everywhere on social media and announce that you are besties. Or you could not be that guy who shares her name all over the Internet. If she friended you, and you want to say friended, why don’t you respect her privacy? Just a thought. ---

I’m beginning to think this is real. I was very skeptical at first. She hasn’t given me her personal phone number but she gave me her PR reps phone. I havent called it but I looked it up and it checks out. If a 40 something actress shows up in a show set in the Carribean this fall, it’s true. This isn’t stealth bragging, I was just wondering if this happens often. I’ve been online for close to thirty years and it’s never happened before.
