who, from his experiences with a few members of a population, extrapolates negative characteristics onto over half the population of the world.
If you had a few bad experiences, that does not mean that all women are shallow.
If you had lots of bad experiences, it seems that you may be seeking out the same type of woman each time, and the scenario is destined to turn out the same because of that.
A few unasked for suggestions: get yourself a nice pet, and learn to lavish it with love, and feel that love returned, Grimhacker. It is good practice, and loving something is good for you. If there is someone whom you can trust and feel safe with, talk to that person about how deeply you have been hurt in your past relationships. Maybe a counselor would help to keep you from repeating the same mistakes.
But don’t continue to alienate a whole group of people who give everyone a chance to belong if they don’t behave obnoxiously and insult people.

I was so tempted to reply to that human cancer in another thread, but I’m glad you started this one Euty, it’s much more constructive. I haven’t met one woman(and most of the men, grim and his ilk excepted) on this board I wouldn’t want to meet IRL, and that’s a testement to you the ladies of the SDMB.

Mind if I jump in, too?
Just wanna let Grimbo know… I’ve been yanked around, too, by female-types (ever have someone threaten to kill herself every time you talked? It gets disturbing), yet that’s never really changed my position from “I like them guys with the funny lumps on their chests.”
My personal favorites are the ones that descend further than the epidermis, and I can assure from personal experience that there’s a good number of those running around the board.
