# An apology to duffer

I went after **duffer** because of the opinions he expressed in response to **Guinastasia**. I was very hostile in my post, and mistakenly said he was from the town across the river from where he actually lives. Because of this, **duffer** then accused me of lying about being from from my home town, which made me even angrier.

That still pisses me off, **duffer** , but I feel like I took things two far for two reasons. First, while I’m familiar with your opinions on politically-polarized issues like global warming based on threads in The Pit and GD, I’ve never addressed you directly before, so such hostility makes one hell of an introduction. Second, that hostility came from my frustration with views like yours in general, not necessarily with you personally.

I take back that last sentence. I strongly disagree with you on many issues, but I identify with you for the reasons I mentioned. As such, my hostility is ideologically-motivated–not personal. It’s a counterproductive, horseshit attitude either way, and I’m sorry I directed it at you.
