Get a tip app for your phone. It will tell you what to do.

My relationship with my father is very bad. Historically it’s been both our faults, but I am trying to change. I’m not willing to stiff a waiter or waitress on a tip, but I don’t want to try to convince a 76-year-old, ornery fool that he’s being an ass and needs to change, either. That just starts an argument.
