In re-reading my posts to [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=183669) thread, well shit. I’m just gonna say it. I was behaving like an asshole. I have no excuse for this, except that my stress level in Airman’s absence has been quite high, and this thread hit a little too close to home. Which still does not excuse my behavior.
To respond to **Twisty** , no, I don’t know when he’s coming home, and that’s a large part of it right there.
At this point, flame away. I’ve asked TubaDiva to suspend my posting privileges, at least for the short term.

Look, I don’t always agree with you. In fact, I think you’re wrong a large portion of the time. (;)) But I don’t want to see you go. You were maybe a little bit harsh, but it is completely understandable. Personally, I think you have to be quite a bit ruder before you qualify as an asshole.
If you are set on leaving, though, I wish you well, and the same to the **Airman**. Come back soon, the both of you.

There’s certainly no need for _that_. Things get said in the heat of the moment that we regret(at least, the way we said them). We’ve all been there. I don’t think anyone in that thread took anything that personally. I know I didn’t. Stick around and ride it out.

Aw, Robyn, honey, I don’t see anything out of the ordinary in that thread, certainly nothing that’s worth you quitting posting. I mean, come on, it’s just another Pit “Armed Forces” thread, yeah, it’s loud, but **all** the Pit “Armed Forces” threads have been loud, always.
And do my eyes and computer clock deceive me, but did that whole thread just swell up and pop since 5:27 since morning? Today’s still May 13, right? [turns around to check calendar] Yep.
So don’t let the fact that you blew your stack at somebody before lunch in the Pit chase you off the SDMB. I’ve seen worse, babe, _much_ worse, in the Pit. Heck, in GD. You ain’t done nothing bad that you need to leave for. Send Tuba a “ne’mind”.
And I hope Airman comes back soon, too. We’ve still got all these dang yellow ribbons around the trees, sure wish we could take 'em _down_ for heaven’s sakes…

Robyn, I read that thread you linked to, and kept waiting for you to say something over the top-- some sort of post that would indicate you crossed the line. It never came. You were just stating your opinion-- Pit-style. Naughty language and heated opinions really aren’t out of place.
There’s no melt-down evident, no violation of board rules. I would agree with Duck Duck Goose; re-mail Tuba and have her halt your suspension.
But if you don’t, take care and come back soon.

I feel strange asking you this but I don’t think you’ve been suspended yet.

Have your ‘political opinions’ changed?
Do you feel like you are more informed by on international issues?
Some friends of mine ( a married couple) seemed to have changed radically since he joined up. Actually he served right out of HS and then was out for a about six years and thats when he met and married her. Now, he is back in the service and her views especially have changed and become very highly charged.
