I have been accepted by Miss Cleo, I think. She annoyed me as I was trying to go to sleep, and she’s been in and out all morning annoying me as well. She has a very loud purr and a really squeeky, whiny not-quite-meow. According to my daughter, she has a real meow, but this is her chatty voice. Weird cat. If I can catch her in a still moment, I’ll try to snap a photo and post it when I get home. Meanwhile, I’m showered and dressed for packing, once her royal daughtership drags her buns out of bed and shows me what’s ready to be packed and loaded. And some time today we’re going to pick up the fiance’s furniture, so we can start loading the trailer. But first, I need breakfast. A diet coke won’t hold me till lunch. I guess the breakfast fairy doesn’t know I’m in Orlando. ---

g’mornin’ mumpers. I finished _Plum Lucky_ last night after getting it on my lunch hour yesterday. True to the rest of the Stephanie Plum books, it was frickin’ hilarious. I could not put it down. I laughed my ass off. It was good to have a book to occupy me as yesterday was the start of baseball season, and **Hawkeye** did much staring at the TV. (For whomever asked, **hawkeye** is a non-mumping doper and my significant other.) ((((( **SmartyPants** ))))) It’s ok to have a bad day and unload in the MMP, that’s what we’re here for. 🙂 **Taxi** did you make the cake?? (I hope so.) Thanks for posting the pic **Beebs**. I love the dress, but one of my favorite passages involves the bishop, Slope and Mrs P–when she is effectively banished from the study, and then Trollope sketches out what is in store for the bishop uponn retiring that night… Heh. I am beginning to hate my car–it’s a Volvo and handles very nicely and holds a lot of stuff, but it is starting to require Maintenance. I cannot afford a new car right now. Gah. Good morning, Mumpers. Sorry you don’t feel good, **Swampy** and **Rosie** – take care of yourselves! Mt. Penis. \ So how do you like your new nickname, **Poster Formerly Known as beebs**? \ You know, it’s getting to the point where we could write whole sentences in Mumper-speak. Not that I’m complaining, mind you! Wow, you have some nice customers, **Pie**. Not. :rolleyes: I’ve been known to place a phone call at that hour – to someone at least three time zones earlier than me. But in the same time zone? She’s lucky you aren’t serving Ex-Lax pudding to her guests today! :eek: That BBC link is the funniest thing I’ve seen in I don’t know how long, **Bobbio**! As someone who has long appreciated their classic “spaghetti harvest” story, I have to say that I never thought they could top it. But top it they have. I laughed so hard I cried! Yes, I was an _Eeeeevi_ Mom Tiger and once grounded **snowbunny** from books. For a whole 12 hours! You’d have thought I had her on the rack being drawn and quartered – that was the best punishment _EVER_. I never had to do it again, just _threaten_ to do it. Between that, The Look, and my Command Voice, I’ve installed a _fine_ set of buttons in her that I can punch at will. 😃 I’ve got nuttin’ else this morning, except to say that apparently today was planned to be knee surgeon visit day until **Rosie** got sick and canceled hers – I’ve got a follow-up myself. Has it really been six months since the last visit? I guess so; time flies when you’re having fun. :eek: Anyway, not much to it; I assume they’ll x-ray it to make sure it’s all healed up properly, but otherwise I have exactly nothing to report, which is what they like, obviously, except for a nicely functioning knee that I don’t even notice most of the time now. Yay! for not noticing it most of the time. Isaac seems to be just fine. Apparently the vet said they’re seeing dogs bitten by other dogs nearly every day now, as dogs come out in the warm weather for the first time in months and have to re-learn their social skills. We’re wondering now if the other dog’s person may have had a run-in with the local Animal Control people, too, judging by his haste in insisting Isaac get treatment and that he’d foot the bill; we wouldn’t be surprised, considering how over-eager local Animal Control is, based on Isaac’s ten days in house arrest last year from doing nothing more evil than jumping on the Evil Bitch Neighbor’s husband with a bit too much enthusiasm and _barely_ scratching him with a nail. :rolleyes: Anyway, the last thing we want to do is cause trouble for the guy, so we’re going to make sure he knows we bear no grudges; Isaac did somewhat ask for trouble, after all. Stoopid dog. Back to caffeinating/working/whatever. ---

I did not end up making cake, first because it was a frickin’ blizzard outside last night (ok, so that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it was snowing a lot) and I didn’t want to go to the store, and also because there does seem to be general resentment towards Coworker’s sudden departure. I don’t really want to stick my foot into that kind of a mess, thankyouverymuch! And it turned out for the best since Coworker was only here long enough to have her exit interview and then left so she wouldn’t have had time to have cake anyway. I’ll just have to make more goodies on the weekend! {{ **rosie** }} LOVED the flying penguins article. I’m still waiting for #13 of the Stephanie Plum books to come out in paperback (Do you know if it’s out yet, **mousie**?) I want to have the whole collection so I make myself wait until each one comes out in paperback and I can buy it and read it. So it’ll be a loooooong time until I get _Plum Lucky_! ---

My darling child told me she packed. Um, yeah. As I’ve sorted thru some boxes trying to organize and consolidate, I’ve been finding empty jewelry boxes, random old greeting cards, pieces of things apparently broken off of other things, and some completely unidentifyable things. There are at least 3 bags of stuffed toys. I’ve done as much as I can without her here to explain why she needs to move some of that stuff. There’s a huge box of notebooks and binders. I haven’t touched it. If they’re things she’ll need as a teacher, that’s fine. But I’m thinking empty 3-ring binders don’t need to be packed and moved - they’re freely available in MD. Anyway, once they get back, I expect things will move much faster and a trash pile will grow. I think I’ll go scope out the crap in the garage - I may be able to make some sense of that stuff. Or not. Hard to say. Crap crap crap crap crap… everywhere I look there’s crap… ---
