# An Expedition is NOT a Compact Car, Morons!

Well, I’m a male and I drive a Honda CR-V, which in Texas is a minor sin of itself.

The reason why I thought Texas A&M was because whenever I’m driving around in the parking lot, trying to find a space, I see a gap between two huge trucks, turn into it, nearly hit a Geo, pull out. Continue to drive and Curse those with S-2100’s, F-250/350’s, and Quad Cab Tundras.

While I have no gripe with the asshole-nature of those idiots parking in the ‘compact only’ spots with their Expeditions, you might consider the other side:

I pay $85/month for parking at my work. I have a Ford Minivan, because I have a child, a dog, and I do a lot of stuff that requires I haul a lot more than will fit in the trunk of a car.

Our parkade is 7 floors high. Recently, the first three floors have all been made ‘short-term’ parking. That means I can NEVER park on one of those floors any more.

On the other four levels, we have 16 handicapped spaces, 8 spaces for ‘expectant mothers’, and over half of the remaining spaces have been designated ‘compact cars only’. Why? So the cheap bastards who over-sold their parkade spaces could pack a few more cars into it. So here’s me, who paid his one-year parking contract, finding out after the fact that in a 7-floor parkade I’d have available to me the equivalent of one floor of parking (and it’s always at the very top). Our proprieters have graciously provided ‘overflow parking’ about 6 blocks away, which I’ve had to use half a dozen times this summer alone, despite the fact that of the 16 handicapped spaces, I’ve never seen more than 2 or 3 cars in them, and I almost never see anyone parked in the ‘expectant mother’ spaces.

Idiocy and rude behaviour doesn’t just apply to people in big vehicles.
