I got Sis and BIL off this morning earlier than originally planned. My dad went to the horsepistol last evening and somebody needed to be there this afternoon to spring him. Nelson, that furry little [del]bastard[/del] fellow barked everytime somebody got up to use the bathroom last night. So I was sleep deprived when I went to a committee meeting/to heathenate. I fell asleep for about twenty minutes early this evening, but am still dragging. I’m off irk tomorrow since the original plan was for Sis, BIL and I to have a leisurely breakfast and send them off to Dad. Oh well. ---

The reason I was feeling sad earlier today is because we had an all-day band rehearsal and I was seriously worried my thumb would still hurt. I’m worried clarinet playing has caused it, and that I might have to play the clarinet less. I’m still a little depressed, and worried, and the thumb hurts a bit, off and on. I have an appointment with a regular doctor tomorrow. I’ll see what they say. ---

**Midget,** hope the hand gets to feelin’ better. Went to a new local place called the Metro Diner for dinner and had a sammich they call the “Holy Davoli”. What it amounts to is two grilled cheese sandwiches on sourdough bread with bacon and tomato, and then you put a 1/2 pound hamburger with a lettuce/mayo/chopped pickle slaw dressing in between the two grilled cheese and serve with a nice side of fries. T’was delicious but packed about six hundred thousand calories and my cholesterol numbers went up 20%. So I probably won’t feel like eating until…Tuesday? Still raining in N. Ali-bama, but clearer weather is promised starting Moanday. We shall see. ---

There’s still good people out there. I just had a guy come to my door. He’d found the wallet of my downstairs tenant, ID, credit cards, and all. They aren’t home but I put the stuff in their place and left a note he can find inside the front door. I got the first name of the finder and a phone number for him so my tenant can call him. The dude just said “I wanted to do the right thing.” ---

I snagged one for today and two extras for tomorrow on top of my regular shift. Two of the three choices were probably as good as any who applied but both are newbies (have only been associates for a few months) and there will be a learning curve. I believe this is a move by the outgoing junta to stack boss-slots with medium capable people who don’t know any other approach than his. And also to make things interesting for the gal or guy who comes in next. As I always tell people ---------- there is a reason we were named for a jungle and not a vacation resort. :smack: ---
