Once upon a very long time ago, someone on SDMB posted links to similar / kindred boards and I saved links to NADS, which did not survive, and to Urban75, which definitely did. I signed up for both and then mostly didn’t participate.

But I have the rather strong memory of being somewhat drunkish one evening and going onto Urban75 and creating a thread, the _title_ of which persists, but there’s no record of me ever having posted to it, let alone created it.

I also have old Bookmarks files in existence on my oldest computers that have links to Urban75 that predate my apparent join date.

Anyone able to say when Urban75 first came into existence? And in particular, did it either get moved from a different platform / host and perhaps lose its old posts, or else purge a bunch of older posts at some point?

My join date is June 2004. But I have links saved in my ancient Netscape Navigator 2.0 Bookmarks file on a 1998-vintage PowerBook, that indicate that I last visited Urban75 in 2003. Which admittedly is possible (I could have visited without registering, but I don’t recall doing so).

> Urban75, also known as U75 or simply Urban, is a website and internet forum based in Brixton, London, and online since 1995.
> Urban75 originated from a football comic Bluebird Jones - an e-zine formed around football fans opposition to the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. The campaign received large amounts of exposure in the media, and in May 1995 an unknown helper on the campaign from Brighton put together the first version of the Urban75 site, using a modem donated by The Levelle...
