It was a terrible analogy.

The problem is: I have never imagined that mods would begin moderating posters who proffer terrible analogies.

Is that the plan, going forward?

Or was this particular terrible analogy sui generis?

For example:

> [@"Some marriages between consenting adults should be recognized, but not others"](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/some-marriages-between-consenting-adults-should-be-recognized-but-not-others/704988/131):

> “If you don’t know anything about an issue, just make something up, and argue as if it were true.”
>
> Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Republican party platform in action.

That’s an absolutely untrue representation of the actual Republican party platform.

Should I report it?
