> BTW, do you really think that they cut all those big stones with stone tools? Stonehenge is an example of stone worked without metal tools, and it looks it. Not so the pyramids.

I believe the Egyptians were out of the stone age by this time. I was think that advanced aliens would have engines to drag the stones up the ramps, laser cutters for the stones, and who knows, maybe tractor beams. You wouldn’t need a lot of human labor near by. I assume you were not saying the aliens would stay in the campsite - I’m sure they have their space RVs, just like in Spaceballs.

> Can you tell us how long it would have taken to make a 6 side smooth big block of stone by grinding in the manner you tell us? Then multiply by the hundreds of thousands of big stones, and then work out how many years it would take with the available manpower. Assuming they also had to work in the fields to grow food and so on it seems to me it would take a very long time.
> BTW, in my “hypothesis” the aliens weren’t asking anyone if they wanted anything, the pyramids would have been for the alien’s purposes, and we have no idea of what that might have been.

The outside of the pyramid used to be cased in limestone. [Cite](http://www.gizapyramid.com/Beford%20Article%201.htm) so there was no reason to make the outside smooth. I don’t recall the inside - at least the part I was able to touch, being very smooth or the least bit startling. In any case the chambers are relatively small and if you think any stone can be smoothed, could be also.
I was lucky enough to go before the country fell apart. Going down there involve a walk down a steep ramp leaning back because of lack of headroom. Even my daughter, younger, shorter and in better shape than me found it stressful. Cool thing to do, though.

The best way to look at this is to pretend archaeologists 3500 years from now are sifting through present-day artifacts. They find evidence we left junk on the moon. Writing about seeing the deepest part of the ocean. Traveling so fast that you outrun the sound of your plane’s engine. Bombs that can vaporize entire cities. Ruins of bridges and towers unfathomably immense.

To these future historians, it might seem impossible for such primitive humans to accomplish such feats. Particularly since late twentieth century people suddenly started writing about aliens a lot- alien abductions, stories, speculation.

Of COURSE the Moon Landing wasn’t a hoax! Aliens helped get us to the moon 😛

Oh dear, score one for the pedantic. Yes, strictly speaking I am not an “engineer”, even though I worked in a mechanical engineering trade.
However, that doesn’t change the fact that I am interested in how things work and are made.

BTW, I don’t think I started that thread, but I could be wrong, so no need to go mining the archives to prove me incorrect.

Obviously the stone could be smoothed, as it is. What I want to know, is how it was done.
It was extremely smooth, and the chamber was not that small, though in the pyramid I went in there was only one chamber we were able to go in, so if you saw more than one chamber, perhaps it was a different pyramid.

No need for aliens, recent evidence and research shows that less people than previously estimated was needed to build the great pyramid and clever use of ramps made it also likely that the time needed to build it was not as long as some assume.

> To achieve a perfect geometry, and accurate alignment, the outer casing stones were put in place first, and then the pyramid of Cheops was filled with rough limestone blocks of different shapes and sizes that only acted as filler. Surprisingly, when Jean-Pierre examined the great pyramid with the help of the well-known Egyptologist Bob Brier, he found solid evidence that his theory about the internal spiral ramp is true. When the great pyramid of Cheops was examined from the outside, Jean-Pierre noticed light shades on the outer surface that completely align with his spiral ramp.
>
> Notice the phantom lines going across the pyramid
>
> Near the top of the pyramid Jean-Pierre also noticed a small notch that goes in alignment with his calculations of the spiral ramp, and was curious to find out what is behind it. Houdin’s companion Egyptologist Bob Brier was permitted to climb the pyramid and examine the notch, and right behind it, he discovered a wide empty room that was not mentioned in any Egyptology resources – which may be another proof that the spiral ramp exists, according to Jean-Pierre, access to the spiral ramp may very well be behind the stone blocks this empty room.

>
> A French team of scientists surveyed the pyramid of Cheops back in 1980 using a technology called microgravimetrics that lets you know where low gravity areas are, in other words, empty spaces. The French team was hoping to find secret chambers inside the pyramid – although they did not find any, their thermal images show something very interesting, the empty spaces within the great pyramid exactly match Houdin’s calculations of the internal ramp as shown in the picture below (the green color represents the low density areas).
> Notice the similarity between the two images

This is stoner television, pure and simple. This is the type of shit you watch when you get high with your friends and want something “deep” to talk about , man.

> That guy with the huge hair does crack me up, though! 😃

He’s proof there are aliens - he’s related to the Centauri ambassador Londo. 😃

I’ve seen several episodes and appreciate it for introducing me to some amazing places. The ancients really did create some mind-boggling structures, in terms of engineering and purpose.

What is so eye-rolling for me is that they try to connect aliens to _every single thing that has ever happened in the history of the planet_ (volcanos! the flood! the founding fathers!).
