But with Marilyn affecting the blond look and Liz being dark, the theory doesn’t hold water. Me, my money’s on Ava Gardner. She was up-and-coming in this time period, had some roles but nothing major, then along comes Miss Short poised to take away Ava’s shot at breaking into the A-list. So Ava whacked her and then later used Sinatra’s Mafia connections to cover the whole thing up. The same Mafia that later killed JFK, RFK _and_ Monroe!
Feh on your Monroe theory. Ava Garnder hits the trifecta.

It wasn’t just early in her career that Marilyn was worried about the competition. There was also the later years. That’s why she killed Sharon Tate. Monroe faked her own death and started a cult under an assumed identity. The real Charles Manson was innocently living in Dennis Wilson’s house the whole time.
Bob Crane knew all about it. That’s why he had to be silenced.

Umm Marilyn didn’t start life as a blonde. Maybe she killed Elizabeth Short to symbolically kill herself, afterward she emerged from her pupile state as the beautiful blonde Marilyn.
