As noted by **elbows** , we’re all glad to hear that you’re concerned about your daughter’s safety. But I think we as a society should be trying to come up with better ways to protect women’s safety than circumscribing their actions to the extent that a teenage girl is not allowed to walk one mile along a rural road near her home in daylight which is considered quite acceptably safe for a teenage boy. What is happening on your neighborhood’s roads that poses such a drastic threat to your daughter (but not your son), and wouldn’t it be better to deal with that problem at its source instead of just refusing to let your daughter go outdoors unaccompanied? ---
