Apparently he is best friends with one of the actors on the show and did it for fun. He was really just being himself - a song and dance man. The part he played was a long-lost father. He got to know his new family for a couple weeks and then went to live in an old-folks home. 😀

I imagine he will win as a sentimental gesture. I think there are only four soap operas left and pickings are slim as it is.

And, yes, I watch Days. I’ve watched it off and on since I was a kid. so nearly 60 years. I picked it up again when I retired and feel like I didn’t miss a thing. There are actors who have been on there for 30, 40, 50 years. It’s definitely a unique form of entertainment. I feel sort of an obligation to watch until the bitter end, which keeps being predicted to be any year now.
