Peter gets the nod, IMO, for the physical and psychological abuse he heaps on Meg in so many episodes. Family Guy and American Dad both have an ugly element of misogyny in their humor. ---

I’ll second the cast of _It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia_. They are all truly, truly horrible people. Particularly Dennis, who in one episode gets a little carried away with trying to understand the mindset of a serial killer. ---

Dr. Kelso from _Scrubs_. He obviously enjoys breaking the spirits of his employees, dashing their dreams, and laughing evilly in their faces. He routinely takes credit for the successes of his staff, and ignores patients and lets them die so he can get the top score in Ms. Pacman. I’d also make a case for Basil Fawlty, although he considers himself the victim. He constantly lies, never admits to falsehood, and improvises lies on the spot to back up his previous lies. He loathes his customers, wife, and employees, and constantly digs at them to make their lives miserable. He’s motivated purely by selfishness and greed, and can’t conceive of doing anything helpful and beneficial for others. And he’s got a mustache.
