Inspiration from[Dr. Seuss](http://www-unix.oit.umass.edu/~poetsma/mulberry.html) (though I quickly digress)

Whenever I move to someplace that’s cool
I always say this is the move
That will change my groove
And clean out my home

But when I arrive at the new place
And describe the storage problems I’ve yet to face
Mom says on the phone
“Don’t leave it alone!
Stop moving it here
And moving it there.
Throw it out, before it’s a disgrace!”

But alas and alack!
First it’s the task
of cleaning out this small little space.

All through the closets and under the bed
Into the drawers and over my head
I’ve cleaned and I’ve dusted
I’m thoroughly disgusted

At the state I learned I was living in.

There were boxes from Nashville
Boxes from Jackson
Boxes from way back before then.

I’ve moved many times
That’s really too true.

There was Chattanooga
Home of the ChooChoo.

And Nashville
With country music, and Opryland too.

Then Jackson,
Not in the Delta

Finally here,
that’s Atlanta.

Now soon a new town
With nary a frown
Yet I still must face this place down.

Now for weeks on end,
I lift and I bend
To the Dumpster! I cry
And heave a great sigh
For that’s another carload.

To Goodwill and the dumpster,
Both places I’ve been
Though more often this month than ever.

Now I look around with a sigh
And know there’s no reason to cry
For it’s almost quite done
Despite the great heat

And to think that I fit it all in 600 square feet!

Brava!

I’m also moving at the end of August… Trying to get rid of stuff gradually because my current place only has airconditioning in the bedroom. And it’s been at a heat index of 105 for the last few days here. Blaarg. Wish I was mostly done… 🙂

ahem

Would you put me in this box?
Is your head all full of rocks?
I will not put you in this box
I will not haul you all those blocks!
That new walk-up is not so roomy
and stressed out cats get kinda zoomy
So with dodging cats and climbing stairs
I will not haul more crap up there
I will not move it, this I swear
(and this time I really mean it!)

😉

Those were things of beauty.

I’d write something, too, but I’m too busy avoiding going through all the stuff I put in the garage when we moved…last July.

Neener neener neener!

I moved everything I own from a 2 bedroom apartment (with a study) to ONE bedroom in my friend’s house. Well, I did have to store a bunch of stuff at another friend’s house, but most of it is here. The only things I put at his house were the sofa and loveseat and some boxes of dishes, etc.

In my 10X12 bedroom. Good lord, I am a packrat.
