I enjoyed this thread of the oldest known examples of things like socks, sunglasses, shoes and sculpture. Well, when I was in school I was told in Science class the Earth was 2.5 billion years old. Now they tell me it’s 4.5 billion. So, yeah, I seem to have picked up a couple billion along the way. ---

When I was young, cars did not have cup holders, even the new ones, We had to drive around with a cold beer between our legs. Got warm faster. ---

The oldest thing on that list is around 35,000-40,000 years old. I wonder what, of all our crap, will be around in 40,000 years for someone to find and wonder at? ---

Leave it to the Egyptians to invent something that sophisticated! Am I a slut for viewing that sheepskin condom as slightly erotic? LOL The globe has a “polar bulge” rather than an “equatorial bulge”. 🙂 You can shelve that beer recipe. 😳 Are we sure that “first sculpture of a human form” wasn’t really meant to show “the first sculpture of a breast implant”? 😈 The shoe, though impressive for its time, definitely wouldn’t be in my closet.
