I thought it was going to reveal that she slept with Shaun, a la the Greg Brady bit. Now THAT would be kinky even by today’s standards… ---

She got even more graphic about Jack’s affair with Cole Porter in another interview I read; he and Porter played a sick “crawl to me” game. (Porter was an amputee at the time.) Of course it should’t really surprise anybody Cassidy was a flamer. To reveal these things when she has as many grandkids as she has implies Shirley needs money. Maybe she wants it to divorce Marty Ingels; if he’s a tenth as obnoxious at home as he is on TV, I have no idea how she’s stayed married to him this long. (They have separated a few times.) Shaun was on _The Hardy Boys_. Granted, sleeping with your with your real life son is kinky, even if he’s not also your fictional son. ---

I was a Shaun Cassidy fanatic as a tween, and found out later that he had a very serious drug problem as a high schooler. Finding out what a dysfunctional background he came from means this wasn’t surprising. Unfortunately, he hasn’t aged all that well, either. Most of my friends were into the Bay City Rollers, and we know now that at least two of them, well, let’s just say they weren’t interested in the girls who went to their performances. ---

Just a footnote…when SO and I moved to West Hollywood, our apartment building was directly behind the building where this fire had happened (long prior to us moving in.) Then again, the parking garage where Sal Mineo was murdered was also just a couple blocks away as well (down the street from the Cassidy apt. fire), which was directly across the street from the bar/restaurant where Janis Joplin was last seen in public before she OD’d…and lots of other celebrity deaths and scandals in the area…but I digress. ---
