Android users: Want a custom app?

I didn’t even really mean real ones. Just an animated set would work.

Right now I am working on Joey P’s call/SMS/email alert widget, called “Klaxon”. I coded the widget skeleton last night and will probably work on the layout tomorrow night. I’m coding it for Android v1.5 API 3 so most HTC users should be able to use it as well. I’d like to pretty it up before I publish it, but need Photoshop to do so.

The shopping list app will be started after the alert widget is completed and I’ve received some feedback.

I’m 99.9% sure I’m not you but you never know, right?

I have a few other minor complaints but mostly they’re with Sprint and not the Android OS or phone itself.

I’ve got this app to bookmark things on delicious.com: Google Code Archive - Long-term storage for Google Code Project Hosting.

But it doesn’t work if you log in to delicious through your yahoo! account. It’s been a known bug for a while, so I’m guessing that it’s actually something difficult to do, but if you have any idea how, I’d love a “bookmark on delicious.com” app that works for me.

I would have to find out how del.icio.us works, since I don’t use it myself. I’ll see what I can do.

So what’s the ETA on my motorboat app?

I’ve already told all my friends…

I don’t have my Android device yet, but I will soon… if this app already exists, please let me know what it’s called.

How about a simple app in which I can input (or upload somehow) my work schedule and include additional alerts with notes at specific times.

Basically, a schedule with custom alert reminders (vibe? ringtone? song? etc). I just find it really tedious always watching the clock at work now and would like alerts for each of the times I should be clocking in, clocking out for lunch, clocking back in for lunch, clocking out, and anything in between, such as meetings, appointments, or times I should call a customer back, etc… I know most in-phone calenders can handle this functionality to an extent, but I’d just like a simple ‘work only’ application to handle this.

I would love to see an app that would send a few frames per second from the current video feed to a server. In case of a situation where you are about to be permanently separated from your phone and need to save whatever it is you are currently filming. I envision it would be useful for documenting police brutality, since the DC cops have a habit of confiscating cell phones from people who film them.

Word Monaco.

Actually, any kind of word game without a timer. But I really miss Word Monaco from my (now exiled) Palm.

Thanks for asking. Let me know when you are done.

Updates for anyone who still cares.

I’ve hit a few snags on the Klaxon layout. Apparently, the widget GUI doesn’t support tables, so I need to create a workaround. After that, though, the rest should be fairly simple… it’s just a matter of locating the classes that contain the alert methods. Hopefully this widget will be done by the middle of next week, then I can start on the shopping list app.

Hit Send on my last post too soon. Here are my replies:

Well, since female dopers surprisingly haven’t been lining up to volunteer their goods for this app, and since I haven’t gone to art school, I regret that this project is postponed. :frowning:

The Calendar function that comes pre-installed already does this. You can set up recurring appointments with notes and custom audibles.

Hmmm… interesting. Probably not within my abilities since I don’t have a dedicated server handy, but you could possibly elaborate a bit more?

I’ve never seen this game, but I’ll check it out.
