Ah, what was I thinking? I soon go in to have my gallbladder removed. And yet I read the column anyway.

Yeah, it wasn’t open-heart surgery or anything, but I woke up toward the end of them taking out my wisdom teeth. I couldn’t move anything but my eyelids, but for some reason they’d placed a cloth over my eyes, so that didn’t do me any good. Luckily, even though I was awake, and even though I could feel them cutting away at my teeth, I was numb enough I didn’t feel any pain.
