Man, if Deborah Myers is shocked at stick figures having sex, could you imagine her shock of stick figure violence on the net? Now those are disturbing! But fun!! I think I got the right thread this time! ---

Wow, thank you, **Duck Duck Goose**! What a helpful and detailed review. Makes me want to get the book so I can keep it in reserve for my niece when she gets a little older. (She’s only 8 1/2 now.) In a few years, I think a book like this will be invaluable to both her and her parents. The parent and the librarian in particular are asshats of the first order. ---

**Duck Duck Goose** , I’d just like to let you know how much I admire you. I just hope Pamela’s mother acquires as much common sense and wisdom as you have. As for the OP, some people believe knowledge and exposure to things which are different _is_ dangerous and might lead to people dabbling in things which are wrong. (Obviously, people like that don’t hang around here long!) I can see how a book like that might seem like a threat to such people; I can also see why that might make it an even better idea for them or their kids to read such books. :rolleyes: CJ ---

Of course, now that the book is banned at Gilbert high schools, it’s going to make it terribly difficult to find, given the many copies of it at nearby Mesa and Chandler libraries (the Gilbert library catalog system wouldn’t work for me). (unwarranted statement based on past book removals) I’m just surprised my state senator/representatives haven’t yet gotten in a huge sound bite applauding the decision to remove that book and announcing a campaign to get that book out of all libraries in Arizona. Or maybe they have and I need to pay more attention. :rolleyes: ---

But you know what they say – nothing sells an election like a sex scandal, so stay tuned to your television. You may get your wish. ---

This frightens me that we’re actually going backwards. I remember being in either 7th or 8th grade, which would have made me 14 or 15, and in biology class they showed us a film of a man & woman having sex. For real. Two real people going at it, not an animation. OK, it was filmed in that sort of blurry “infrared” kind of photography, but it was very real, very explicit. You could see the man’s penis entering the woman and pumping away. They showed the ejaculation part. Get this, it was in CATHOLIC school. Class was taught by a nun. In something like 1978. In Wisconsin! Now kids can’t view stick figures? ---
