My SO got his hands on a copy and made me sit through 10 minutes of this thing. He knew it would be bad, but I think actually watching it left him in physical pain. But rather than avoiding all things Dragonlance temporarily so his soul could recover, he insisted that the story was good and the characters were awesome and that I should read the books. He told me about the Tanis and Raistlinn and they sounded neat to me, so I agreed.
I think I got 5 chapters in. The writing was hilarious at times ("…and that was uncanny!") and though I could see it going somewhere good… eventually… it was a challenge to keep reading. Plus he got me the annotated version, where the sidebar is filled with inane comments like, “I like cheese.”
Annotated version? Has DL become so lionized that it’s like the KJV now? Weird. I can’t imagine why you would need an annotated Dragonlance. It’s all pretty much right there on the page…
