While I’m certain we are all flattered you value our expertise and opinion so much you would consult us during what is very possibly a medical emergency, may I humbly suggest you make us at least your second option (after calling for emergency services)?
That was my first thought, I was worried they would just say head for the ER. Looking back on it I think I had a bigger panic reaction to a natural effect of the spice instead of an allergic reaction. My entire mouth and throat got this puffy feeling to it that just kind of freaked me out but didn't seem to get any worse after about the first minute.
While it’s not hidden, it might be worth remembering that most Italian sausage in America has a good bit of fennel in it (and it’s the signature flavor of what most of us generically call “Italian sausage” here.)
