The usual interpretation of the criticism that selected remarks “say more about [the posters making them] than about [the subject of the posts]” is that the remarks reveal more information about the thinking/attitudes/characters of those who’ve made them than they do regarding the persons/objects/ideas about which they’re posting. There is no direct comparison being made between the two different sets. The criticism is limited strictly to the first set. ---

I think she got sucker punched. How can a reasonably normal healthy young person fall and break their jaw. that requires at least an auto accident. ---

To those claiming this is cruel, that she’s a fellow human being [in spite of the suppression of the DNA evidence] and deserving of respect and sympathy— no, no, no. 99.999% of celebrities with broken jaws, I’d agree, but… Coulter is a modern day sideshow geek, a direct descendant of the “entertainers” at sideshows who, lacking any talents or marketable deformities, would bite the heads off of live chickens or eat baby mice in exchange for a livelihood. The difference is that most sideshow geeks got pennies for their work (they were considered the lowest rung on the show biz ladder) and Coulter manages to make millions. So, she earns millions by making people say “Oh my god, how disgusting!” and gawk at her. We’re gawking, keeping her name in print and giving her free publicity. If anything, we’re doing her a favor by mocking her. ---
