…a week later, but hey, we’ve been busy! MrWhatsit and I are proud to announce the arrival of BabyWhatsit, on Feb. 17 after a relatively uncomplicated delivery, weighing in at a good-sized 8 lb 9 oz. All members of the family are doing well, except that Whatsit Jr. keeps wanting to grab the baby and drag her across the room a la his favorite teddy bear. But, we are working on this behavior. Apart from that, and a nagging mother-in-law who keeps continually demanding more digital pictures, we are all happy as clams. She’s so beautiful! Almost makes me want another…nah. Please tell me she’s not being swallowed by a large marshmallow (as suspected by the picture) ---

Actually, we were going for the “Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man” look. Cut us a break, it was the only piece of newborn outerwear we had that even remotely came close to fitting her! When Whatsit Jr. was born, we had absolutely nothing that fit him, and wound up bringing him home in a hospital onesie and a blanket strategically threaded around his carseat restraints. We have learned much since then. ---

Awwww, she’s adorable! And that outfit may be huge on her now, but she’ll outgrow it before you can turn around. You know how babies can do that. 🙂 ---
