To answer the OP.
I do not believe a therapeutic abortion with the woman’s consent is ever murder.
I believe it can be unfortunate, a bad decision made for the wrong reasons, or a terribly sad thing for everyone concerned, but I do not believe it is murder.
I believe this because childbirth and pregnancy carry risks to the life and health of the woman. Best case scenario in the developed world, you have a 1 in 10,000 chance of dying giving birth and about a 1 in 1000 chance of suffering serious morbidity.
Worst case, in the developing world, childbirth carries about a 1 in 10 risk of death and about a 1 in 3 risk of serious morbidity.
I believe forcing someone to carry a pregnancy to term, and to go through childbirth against their wishes, when this carries a risk to their life and their physical and mental well-being is unacceptable.
We do not force men who get their partners pregnant into a lottery with a 1 in 10,000 chance of death and a 1 in 1000 chance of serious morbidity, I do not think we should force women into such a position.
If someone wants to continue a pregnancy, and willingly undertakes those risks, well and good. If not, they shouldn’t have to, and to me the life of a born person will ALWAYS take precedence over the life of an unborn one, until that person THEMSELVES instructs me otherwise.
i.e. If a pregnant woman told me that if a choice had to be made between her life and that of her child, I should choose her child, I would respect her wishes. If no such instruction was given, her life would be my priority.
So in reality you are not worried about human life,and it’s potential, only when it is a fertilized egg! The ready born is not so important; have a child even if it means it may starve to death(such as what is going on in Africia). This happens a lot in countries that do not teach birth control, As I see it; if birth control is bad because it is unnatural,then getting an operation,taking drugs.even getting one’s hair cut could be wrong, that is unnatural too.
The Catholic church says The only birth control methode that is not sinful is Rhythm Methode which is the most unnatural of all. Yet one can live on a machine even though brain dead,to me that is unnatural.
Working on and finding better birthcontrol that would be a way to do away with the need for an abortion and as a man showed what happened in (I believe it was Bali) When he taught the residents how to use a condom and control their family size it helped all the ready born people. He showed them it was better to raise only the children you already had and made a better life for them.
