I see the all the thread’s asking for help with computers and I think PC’s aren’t that hard to use. Then suddenly I can’t hear anything out of my speakers and I realise there’s a hell of a lot I don’t know about computers.

My problem, as I’ve said, is that I can’t hear anything out of my speakers or my USB headphone set. Came home from work turned Winamp on and listened for a bit, thinking I don’t normally have to turn my speakers up this much to hear. Couple of internet sites later I want to change the music. I play 3 songs, delete them from the playlist and start up a different tune. But I can’t hear anything.

Any ideas? Nothing that makes a sound does make a sound. I haven’t muted the volume via the volume control. Everything’s plugged in the right places.

BTW I’m running XP on a dell desktop.

Try double clicking on your little speaker in the task bar ,to bring up the windows mixer , you may have inadvertantly changed the master volume.
