I have no problem admitting that I am horribly stuck.
I can downstrum a few chords - I understand the concepts - I can run my fingers up the fret board ever so gently and pluck out an up and down scale (well, I assume its a scale, I go up on each string 4 spots, move down, repeat, then backwards) - but if I try to do a DuDu, the guitar liteerally leaps out of my hands and does a belly laugh, the dog cries and I am pretty sure that somehwere in the world a butterfly loses its wings. I would like to learn to play melodies sucn as these - even so simple a one as ‘greensleeves’, yet all I can find is a g - where is that darn “r” anway? I’ve had my Baby Taylor for 2 years now, a nice little B.C Rich solid body a 1.5 years, and I have yet to figure out hwo folks make these things sing.
Its ‘easy’ they say.
Worst part - I almost ordered a Gretsch Hollow body a while back - love the idea - love the sound (as long as its in someone elses hands) - I realize two things - I understand the mechanics, but I don’t got the music in me.
Atleast the crowd in rock band still claps along and doesn’t laugh me off the stage too often.
