Another Iraqi Smoking Gun, and the Dog That Didn't Bark

Don’t forget Bill O’Reilly’s comment on his radio show the other day – “Things in Iraq aren’t too bad. There’s still some fighting, but that’s to be expected, since they’re having a civil war right now. But that’s okay; we went in there, overthrew a dictator, and stabilized the place.” (paraphrased from memory)

Bah! Fags and Frenchies. Who is going to listen to them?

Do that, and the next thing you know women will be driving!

-Joe, Freedom Prick

I don’t see why anyone would act the least bit surprised with Bricker’s continued fellatio of His Supreme Leader. After all, he’s been on record here for quite some time as member in good standing of The American Taliban, aka, the Make Their Own Reality Crowd. And as such, facts will do absolutely nothing to dent his/their Faith.

All the same, kudos to those few tenacious enough to keep trying. But as these things go, I think the only solution left is for America to awaken from its prolonged slumber and take it to the streets. Perchance that is what the infinitely more moderate Spavined Gelding had in mind when he wrote:

Not going to be pretty – that much I think we can all agree with.

I can’t stand Bush, but I can’t get anything out of that article, it’s not really saying anything. It was also missing “purple monkey dishwasher” at the end.

Two points on how pathetic the Bush admin has become.

  1. Anybody that believed that propaganda letter about insurgents losing morale is a fucking fool. How many people have been blown up this week alone? 200? 250? I’d say the insurgents are pulling down record numbers.

  2. This #3 AQ guy they caught is a crock of shit too. He’s about as high up as that American Taliban kid.

We’re really grasping at straws these days.

World Eater, perhaps this follow up article will help er…elucidate matters for you.

Proof Bush Fixed The Facts

Well everything seems in order here, I’m off to get a beer.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Like I said before, it just doesn’t matter. I don’t care if God came down from the heavens, Cthulhu rose from the depths, and they both joined hands and provided video, audio, and signed confessions from Bush and Cheney and Rove (oh my!). We would still never get any resolution, closure, or a straight answer. Every time this comes up, the sock puppets will rise up, proclaim Mandate ™, total victory, dancing in the streets and various other drivel. They will deny or ignore everything, and things will keep going as they are.

Never teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

Nope. I’m content with the current situation, in which the insular left-wing community is convinced of Bush’s evil, but the general public - the voters - not so much.

Before the election, you all prattled on about this, and, lo! Bush was re-elected by millions of votes.

The next election is the 2006 mid-terms, and the GOP will not lose a single net seat in the House or the Senate.

So why do I have to worry about convincing anyone else? I’m perfectly happy with the status quo. My party controls the House, the Senate, and the White House, and that’s not changing. So why should I worry about convincing anyone?

Because “winning” is everything, isn’t it? It doesn’t matter what it costs, how it is based on half truths, misrepresentations, outright lies, carefully seeded paranoia, and deliberately mining the ignorance and bigotry of The Constituency. All that matters is winning, and to hell with the consequences. Every dog has his day, the worm will turn, balances of power will shift, and all that.

The topic is not whether the GOP will maintain its ascendency, the question a lot of people are asking is why, in the face of a “preponderance of evidence” that Bush had a hard-on for invading Iraq (or, alternatively, in the face of a howling wasteland of a lack of evidence to support the stated reason for invading), you turn a blind eye to what is obvious to 55% of the general public-the voters, as a case of mere sour grapes. Is it that you feel that this administration’s actions have been good for America? If so, please, illuminate us on the benefits we have reaped from our 300 billion dollar adventure. Or, as I suspect, is it not so much a case of being pro-Bush as being anti-anti-Bush?

That was one of the saddest things that this site has ever had written on it, Bricker.

Just don’t try to tell us anything at all in the future about anything related to principles, or morality, or ethics, or democracy, or leadership, or integrity - including your own. You’ve admitted you just don’t give a shit about any of that, and may not even know what it is.

Seconded. I find it less frustrating to just bang my face against a brick wall.

I like to think that even I have some principles and a conscience, even if many people like to tell me I’m wrong or crazy. It’s sad to see someone who has none at all. No, morbidly “interesting” is more like it.

I’m disappointed in your answer, Bricker . I thought you were a person of integrety and high ethics. Guess I was wrong.

Bricker? What he said. I no longer have any respect for you. You have now beyond a doubt shown that you care not a whit for honesty, honor, or decency as long as you can bask in the reflected glory of your leader, no matter how dishonest, dishonorable, or indecent that leader may be. You disgust me.

Hmph. I was going to point out that both posts 41 and 50 were flat-out lies, proving that Bricker has no honor - it pains me to even put his name in the same sentence with that word - but I see he’s already done the work for me.
Good job, Bricker.

We are witness to a moment in SDMB history. In the future, a newbie will post “You called him a “bricker”. What does that mean? Is it like “thick”? Some British thing, or does it really have something to do with masonry?”

[Pink Floyd]

He don’t need no spindication.
He don’t need no thought control.
No lib’ral media in the pressroom.
Bricker, leave those facts alone.
Hey, Bricker, leave those facts alone!
All in all it’s just another Bricker the tool.
All in all you’re just another Bricker the tool.

The same reason you crusaded to get him into office to attempt to stem the flow of innocent lives being lost to abortions. Because innocents are dying for no reason other than the selfish dictates of the person who holds the power over those innocents.

This was a war which was flat out unnecessary and slowly people are learning that the decision makers knew that beforehand.

Enjoy,
Steven

I had a thought probably along similar lines later in the day. The “48 hours” speech wasn’t too late to offer the terms Bricker claims Bush would probably have accepted. The only terms offered were exile for Hussein and his sons. No other peaceful solution was offered. Therefore Bush could not have been interested only in disarmament and enforcement of UN resolutions(which he is not empowered to unilaterally enforce anyway). Unless one is arguing that Saddam and his sons are themselves Weapons of Mass Destruction akin to the cartoon character “Katie Ka-Boom” of course.

Enjoy,
Steven
