They’re saying that witnesses reported seeing the 3 gunmen get into a black SUV and drive away, and that the police had to evacuate to deal with a “suspicous device.” I’m guessing that the device was a decoy meant to keep the cops busy (freaking out about a bomb) while they got away. ---

All the area schools are on lock down. Mass transit is suspended. We’ve just been told to hold all of our 5th period students through 6th period, just as a precaution since the suspects are still at large. We’re 10 miles away, so I can imagine what the San Bernardino schools are going through. ---

Obama keeps responding to these incidents by blathering about people on the no-fly list being able to buy guns–as if that had anything to do with it. Some of us remember when Senator Kennedy was on the no-fly list for a little while. ---

They’re clarifying that the “14 wounded” means 14 people with significant injuries possibly related to gunshots. There may have been additional people wounded by falling/running/etc. ---
