[This page](http://mr-31238.mr.valuehost.co.uk/assets/Flash/psychic.swf) claims to read my mind. I know, it’s stupid. I want to know how it works. There are only a few symbols, so there is a good chance it will pick the right number. It should get it wrong eventually, but it never does. I don’t like mind reading sites. ---

Every time you add the digits of a two digit number together and then subtract that number from your original number, you will have 9, or a multiple thereof. That’s why every symbol that is 9 or a multiple (18, 27, 36, 45, etc.) are the same symbol. They do change the symbol each time they do it, but the answer will always be whichever symbol is 9. ---

Its been discussed many time here. It is a mathmatics trick and nothing more. Note that all the calculations are a power of nine. Note that all powers of nine have the same character. Note that the characters all change each time you try it. Example: 55 5+5 = 10. 55 - 10 = 45. 45 is a power of 9. Example 33 3+3 = 6. 33 - 6 = 27. 27 is a power of 9. You should get it by now… ---

Actually, those are multiples of nine, not powers. But we know what you meant. 😉 ---
