Another "movie you'd like to see made" thread

National Treasure III! There’s been a flurry of articles toying with fans the past couple of months, insisting that the project isn’t actually dead. I won’t hold my breath…but I really do want to see it.

The novel Sweetgirl by Travis Mulhauser would make an awesome action flick (hopefully a considerably better one than the adaptation of Hold the Dark). I picture Lola Flanery as Percy James, Sam Elliott as Portis Dale, and Tom Stevens as Shelton Potter.

And I’ve always wished that there could be a alien story set in medieval times. Here’s a UFO landing, there are aliens creeping though the night, here’s an alien shapeshifting to impersonate Uther Pendragon…

But then you’d be able to take their guns away.

The guy who when one of his boobytraps dumped an assassin into a cesspool, and the assassin said that at least it wasn’t fatal, replied “Oh it’s fatal eventually, when you get too tired to tread water anymore.”

A live-action miniseries of Miracleman by Alan Moore (and then Neil Gaiman). God only knows what sorting out the copyright issues would be like, though.

Thomas Tryon’s novel Lady deserves to have a good movie made of it. If it’s done soon, the leading role of Woody should be played by Montana Jordan (Young Sheldon’s Georgie)

Ron Goulart has a series of “Groucho Marx as detective” novels that I think would be perfect for Jon Stewart. They are set in the late 30’s and revolve around various radio shows that Groucho worked on. He rarely wears the “Groucho” make-up and it’s sort of a running gag that nobody knows who he is.
