It appears that the false messiah has fled, and the abandoned confederates are now left to fend for themselves. But contrary to people’s wild imaginings, Cecil’s punishments for disloyalty are appropriate and fair. It’s not like **Cecil is going to make you into a foot-stool**. There is no reason to believe that **The bigwigs at the Chicago _Reader_ are going to parade you through the streets that the populace might ridicule you**. And they are not going to **Permanently ban you, and your children, and your children’s children from accessing the Straight Dope Message Board ever again, for all eternity**. Unless, of course, Cecil is like, you know, in a cranky mood or something. Where’s your messiah II now? All Hail Cecil! Accept No Substitutes! ---

Geeze, **whitetho** , I think you are seriously overreacting here. **Fenris, Cecil II** clearly stated that he wasn’t trying to supplant The Great **Cecil** , and was simply offering his services as a substitute. Given that the self-styled “Perfect Master” is apparently busy, or not feeling so well, or whatever, this doesn’t seem unreasonable. There’s no _coup de main_ going on here, honestly. Message received, **Arwen**. I agree that **Arnold** may be a danger to the Movement. There will be two tarps in the utility van. ---

I’m beginning to get worried about **Arnold** , since he seems to think that comparing himself to Stalin will rally people to his cause. In addition to my teeming duties, I’d like to be in charge of the committee that will work to prove that anything that goes wrong was caused by **whitetho**. I think our first order of business will be changing **whitetho** ’s name to Snowball. ---
