I have no plans to see the movie, but the trailers for _Snakes on a Plane_ got me thinking about how I’d handle the situation. Please tell me someone else has thought of… …depressurizing the cabin. Would this work? Do they address such a solution in the movie? ---

“SOAP?” “_SOAP?_” Acronyms have now officially gone from lazy to downright annoying. Me, I’m gonna scrub SOAP and go see TN:TBORB, B:TOPA, I, or maybe just that new thriller, TD. ---

I was expecting to read about Billy Crystal, Richard Mulligan, and Katherine Helmond when I saw the title to this thread. ---

When I saw the thread title, I thought this would be about the sitcom from the late 70’s with the Tates and the Campbells. Too bad really. “Soap” went off the air over 20 years ago. I’ve seen the whole run at least twice. “Snakes on a Plane” hasen’t even been released yet. I’m already sick of “Snakes on a Plane”. I’d gladly watch “Soap” again. ---

I think the proper spelling is SoaP, to avoid confusion with the sitcom, for us fogies who remember that show. I think the hype peaked too quickly for SoaP. I’m much less interested in seeing this than I was about a month ago. I have a feeling the title is more interesting than the movie. ---

I don’t get it. I don’t think that the problem is simply that there are SOAP. The problem is that there are SOAP at the same time as there are POAP. Unless, I’m missing something, wouldn’t your solution have a deleterious effect on the POAP? ---

If they flew at an altitude so there was sufficient air to breathe 10,000 feet or so, it might be cold enough to put the snakes into a stupor, and make them easier to collect or dispatch. ---

Heck, no need to depressurize. Just lower the thermostat and pick up the snakesicles at your leisure. A friend of mine smuggled her pet snake on a cross-country flight, so she wouldn’t have to check it. She just let it hang out inside her jacket. She said it slept the entire way. ---
