One of the Swifties’ favorite allegations has been that the shrapnel in John Kerry’s ass was rice, not metal. They have been yelling that he did not deserve his third Purple Heart because according to them, he was wounded in the ass before the incident (in which he turned his boat into live fire to save the life of a Green Beret who had fallen overboard. He was awarded the Bronze Star) when he blew up some caches of rice. Our own **Sam Stone** has been quite fond of denigrating this particular war wound. Oh, I’m sure **Sam** will do his best to spin his way out of this one, **Dio**. Seems to me if we could harness the energy from his gyrations, the SDMB could upgrade from the hamsters. ---

Seems like you could make more of **Sam** spinning if/when he does so rather than predicting it and possibly having lots of folks watch you deal with foot-in-mouth disease, **ETF** 😉 ---

It’s actually a large piece of rice. Mutant rice, which has been known to exist in Vietnam for decades. The Swifties will all swear to having seen mutant rice in large quantities. It only makes sense that it is mutant rice because the Purple Heart was undeserved. Therefore it has to be mutant rice. Prove me wrong. ---

Looking over that nonsense, again, I find it extraordinary the amount of energy expended to assasinate Kerry’s character via this whacky attempt to poke holes in his war record. Just amazing. And after that we had **Scylla** going over the same territory like it was virgin. It was like the endless WMD debates all over again. The sheer pigheadedness is mind-boggling. ---

It’s fascinating, isn’t it? I think it’s because in the past the war record was something the Republicans had the edge on, like with both guys running against Clinton. Now that the dem candidate has such an incredible advantage over their candidate on this issue, it’s deperate measures for desperate times. ---

I just cannot get angry at them anymore, only point and laugh. It seems that they did not mind getting into the gutter fringes of the American right to make bullshit presentable, even though I am mostly liberal, my opinion of them was much better than what I see now, before all this unpleasant business… ---

There’s no Bushit, no matter how transparently outrageous, that they are not ready to defend through pages and pages of ouright bullshit and spin. Aluminum tubes, Powell’ ‘slam dunk’ presentation, Niger uranium, the student thesis, WMDs, imminen threat, war on terror, you name it, they’ve bought and peddled every single GOP talking point our there – sources and facts be dammed. Freepers doing what they do best: disrupt and deflect attacks on their Great Misleader by any and all means possible. Nothing else matters. Period. Thus I can’t say that I am surprised with their undying allegiance to whole Whack-A-Boaters strategy. It’s just more of the same.
