Is it me, or has there beem a huge influx lately? If yes, has the board been written up any place. I did see that The National Review (I think) did mention The Straight Dope. But I think that would only send a wave of opinionated people into GD and, lord knows, we’re used to that. So, more trolls than usual? Any reason why this should be? ---

One other question. I’m trying to keep which troll is which straight. Madhatter=dimbulb who creates tons of names and makes annoying posts, but has no personality, other than the fact that he hates the mods? Serlin=Weirdo with a “no-fat-chicks” fixation? Dippymonger=? I can’t figure out which he is. Or is he one of Madhatter’s? Sorry to ask this, but I’m curious. Fenris ---

Serlin . . . I hate to even give him this much credit. Serlin had a propensity to do two things: be a jerk and have multiple screen names for his various personalities. He was banned for having the multiple SNs, IIRC. Then he came back as various other names I won’t dignify by listing (email a mod and you might get a list of them, but the outings have been kinda obvious). Dippymonger I don’t know about. He might have been a concrete reincarnation. ITF, guys, re: trolls it’s much better to just email mods. That’s what they’re here for. ---

Madhatter IS DippyMonger. He is not related to concrete. The MO and pattern are completely different. –Tim ---

Right, but it’s still a thread talking _about_ trolls, which still counts (to them) as feeding. They can exist on the tiniest morsel of public outcry, the smallest crumb of “my name in lights!” E-mailing a mod with your question about trolls performs the message board equivalent of sweeping crumbs off the table into a dustpan instead of onto the floor. In the past, I have found **TubaDiva** to be an excellent dustpan. 🙂 ---
