While the people making 911 calls from inside the store might have been a random selection, they were all identifying the shooter as white when they mentioned his appearance at all. The police radio communication was also saying “white male”. So no, this wasn’t a matter of “media bias”. That actually IS the reality for light-skinned Arabs in the US. Their place in the hierarchy isn’t clear cut and moves around, often in service to the needs/desires/bias of other people, without consulting said Arabs. It has always been a problem for the racists that there are so many people who don’t neatly fit the categories. ---
