Hmm, I’m not sure I’d watch, but if I did I’d probably be more amused than anything. It would be hard for me to override the part of my brain that was empathizing with how awful it would be to learn, after doing the deed, that others were watching and possibly smirking. ---

I dunno. Reminds me of the one time I went to a male strip club with friends. I just didn’t get it. If I can’t participate, I’m not interested. I have definite voyeuristic tendencies; I like to watch my SO, and like porno, but looking on and not, y’know, being able to engage in like activity doesn’t do it for me. Now, if I could participate, that would be an entirely different story. 😃 ---

_Of course_ men and women watch for different reasons, but **why** would I watch? I’d definitely watch, out of hope. I think most times it would probably be either boring or disappointing (_especially_ if he didn’t know he was being watched), but I would watch anyway, just on the off chance . . . that he might be as sensual and vulnerable and aroused and erotic as a man would like a woman to be if he’s going to watch her do the deed. If she just lay there with a dead expression on her face, no matter what her hands were doing it wouldn’t be much fun, would it? Well, if the guy was just doing it to have it done with, that probably wouldn’t be much fun to watch either. But if he was into it . . . Ohhhhhhhh. ---

I refrained from this thread because I discoursed at such length in MSK’s thread, but since we’ve been prodded (;)), I’ll reply. I’m taking this question to imply that the person you’re watching is a stranger, not one’s mate, although you don’t really specify. I find it hard to imagine such a situation IRL (how did I happen to suddenly come across this man in mid-act in such a way that my presence is not and cannot be known?), but I’ll answer rhetorically as posed. In such completely protected circumstances, if I were single and the subject was someone who was not painful to look at (read: need not be “gorgeous”, just presentable and moderately hygienic), I would watch, for titillation and curiosity. It’s certainly a sensual and erotic thing to see, and in such circumstance, would be not much different from watching a movie. On the other hand, in my actual circumstances, since I am happily mated (to a man who I have greatly enjoyed watching a time or two myself), no, I would not watch. Call me old-fashioned, but I am strictly a one-man woman, and I don’t have any desire to see another man sexually. (Videos and the like are unrelated to this question, since they are not a real live person, just a picture.) I may notice if a guy is good-looking, but I don’t wonder what it would be like to sleep with him - since I’m satisfied at home, I’m just not interested; that base is already covered. I would feel uncomfortable and vaguely repulsed to be a part of such intimacy with a stranger. Also, since physical intimacy is part of our bond as a pair, even though there is no actual physical interaction in the situation described, such intimate real-life voyeurism would cross my mental line of demarcation as to what constitutes being less than absolutely faithful to one’s mate. I realize not everyone would agree, and I have no desire to change anyone else’s mind about it (think what you want, that’s the point), but actions don’t have to go all the way to intercourse to leak into “unfaithful” territory in my book. Is watching a stranger masturbating the same as sleeping with someone else? Of course not. But is it some version of sexual intimacy with another person? I think it is. This is not an issue if you’re talking about something truly removed from you (like a movie), but when you are standing live and in person in a room with a naked person and something sexual is going on, it’s a whole different ballgame in my book. I’m no prude (quite the opposite, really), but I’m very serious about a comittment to my life’s partner. The point isn’t “I’d be cheating so it would be wrong,” the point is “I have a sexual partner, other men are not desirable to me sexually, and I would be uncomfortable, not aroused, by finding myself in a sexual situation with a stranger.” So my answer is a qualified yes, in pure theory and assuming my personal circumstances were different, but a firm no, IRL. Oh, and if you did mean that the person was your mate, not a stranger, the answer is just yes. Did the offer of presents expire at midnight? ---

I would watch just out of curiosity. I have a friend who went a step further than that. He set up his videocamera and taped his girlfriend masturbating with her vibrator.
